Taking the Plunge
On January 31, we participated in the Polar Plunge at Mound’s Surfside Beach. For those unaware, this annual event raises money for Special Olympics Minnesota and is held at thirty one locations across the state.
Being part of the community is everything for us and I jokingly refer to the plunge as my first “swim of the summer.” This year, the Minnetonka Minute & friends were able to collectively raise $600 toward the cause, which is our largest charitable contribution to date! The Mound polar plunge alone raised some $88,000 in total, with the entire program having raised $2,415,579 to date. Roughly two thirds of the plunges have yet to happen, so I’m quite certain they’ll be raising a substantial amount more before the end of the season!
The event coordinators provided a photographer which snapped a dozen plus photos of our group. The gallery below displays the best of the bunch. Or the ones we found to be the most photogenic, at least!
