The Excelsior Amusement Park Carousel Myth

There's a common myth that Valley Fair's wooden roller coaster, the High Roller, was originally located at Excelsior Amusement Park. This is not the case. Excelsior's Cyclone was demolished with the park, not moved. Valley Fair opened its doors a few years after Excelsior's closure.

However, one ride from Excelsior does still survive and can be visited by those passionate Minnetonka historians. Located at Valley Fair is a vintage 1925 carousel. This ride is from Excelsior and continues to entertain guests 100 years after its debut on the shores of Minnetonka.

Recently, we had the opportunity to visit Valley Fair and took an opportunity to ride the carousel. For those unfamiliar, here is an image as it is today!

If you have the opportunity, it's certainly worth the visit! It's also probably the most tame ride in the park, if you have motion sickness such as myself. . .
